Caliente Pizza & Draft House will sell an Ed Sheeran-inspired pizza for National Pi Day

The club isn't the best place to find a lover, but Caliente is the best place to find pizza inspired by pop star Ed Sheeran. The chain cooked up a National Pi Day deal in honor of Sheeran's Mathematics Tour coming July 8 to Acrisure Stadium. On Tue., March 14 only, Caliente will serve a "Calebrese-style pizza featuring Caliente’s signature dough, crushed plum tomato sauce, Calebrese Soppressata, roasted red pepper medley, fresh mozzarella and provolone." The Pi pies will come in size large for $20.

The promotion also includes a chance for customers to win free concert tickets to Sheeran's Pittsburgh show. Follow Caliente’s social media accounts, as each post about the Pi Day pizza will feature a chance to win.

East Liberty will soon welcome Cinnaholic, an Atlanta-based bakery chain described in a release as offering "plant-based, allergen-friendly cinnamon rolls and other delicious desserts seven days a week." Head to the Eastside Bond Development building on Fri., March 17 for the store's grand opening, during which, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., each guest will enjoy one of Cinnaholic's signature cinnamon rolls for $2. The location marks the beginning of a Pennsylvania expansion for Cinnaholic, touted as currently having more than 70 locations in the United States and Canada.

Did a whiff of brine just hit your nose? That's because Pittsburgh's award-winning specialty food festival, Picklesburgh, will soon return. The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership announced that this year's event will take place from Fri., July 21 through Sun., July 23. A PDP release promises that the 2023 festival will include "dozens of live music performances alongside popular activities like Pickle Cocktails, Pickle Beer, the Pickle Juice Drinking Contest, and an abundance of pickle-themed apparel, merch, and more." A location has yet to be determined and more details about the "expanded" 2023 event will be announced in the coming weeks.

A Pittsburgh cult bagel company just announced that they now accept pastry preorders. A recent Instagram post says Pigeon Bagels will take orders at least two days ahead for a selection of its classic pastries by the dozen, as well as for its challah bread and buns. Other items available to preorder are cookies, rugelach, scones, chocolate babka, and more.

412 Food Rescue x Cinderlands Beer x DiAnoia’s Eatery

Three local institutions are teaming up again to fight hunger while rescuing discarded food. 412 Food Rescue, Cinderlands Beer, and DiAnoia’s Eatery created Con Pane, an IPA beer described as being made from recycled bread from DiAnoia’s and flaked rye. This is the second time the three have made and distributed the brew, the proceeds from which support the work of 412 Food Rescue. Con Pane is available to purchase at Cinderlands. Cans are also available for purchase at DiAnoia’s, most local Giant Eagle and Whole Foods locations, and small beer distributors.

Simply Burgers, a new spot specializing in smashburgers, launched on March 10 as part of the neighborhood's Market House concept. Diners can enjoy a meal in the lower level of Bierport, directly connected to the single-screen boutique movie theater, Row House Cinema.
