Pittsburgh City Paper is in seeking an Advertising & Marketing Coordinator to assist the advertising department.

  • Oversee the membership program and merchandise store, in charge of monitoring and running campaigns to increase revenue
  • Work with editorial on new merchandise opportunities and coordinate concept, marketing push, and oversee mailings
  • Create new membership campaigns and small member events
  • Oversee subscriptions and promotion of subscriptions
  • Work with the Advertising Director and Creative team to keep media kit and other sales materials up to date
  • Work with data programs and vendors to provide analytics and reader statistics for sales materials as well as needed for the sales team’s presentations
  • Assist Advertising Director in working with digital fulfillment agency
  • Manage classified section including legal ads
  • Manage national agency accounts
  • Book various digital payouts monthly
  • Monitor and manage all calendars for digital and print premium placements
  • Create campaigns to help promote City Paper to current and potential readers
  • Create and coordinate all paid email blasts and social media mentions for advertising
  • Oversee CP print subscriptions and promotion of subscriptions

  • Requirements:
  • 2 years Previous sales support experience
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Google Suite products
  • Ability to multitask, manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team-oriented environment
  • A strong team mindset

  • Reports to Advertising Director and collaborates heavily with Marketing & Sponsorships Manager

    Salary: $40K +commission

    Benefits include company-sponsored health care after 90 days employment. Vision and dental available with employee contribution. Vacation and sick days. 401K after one year of employment.

    Pittsburgh City Paper is currently seeking one Summer student intern in the Marketing Department. Intern must be a student currently enrolled in the Pittsburgh-area college or university, no exceptions. Internship is available starting in May and will last through August 2022.

    Responsibilities will include helping update sales collateral for the Advertising Department; helping with design and adding research. Intern will also assist the Digital Initiatives Manager and Advertising Director with Pittsburgh City Paper’s largest yearly promotion and event, Best of Pittsburgh. Intern will help with sales materials and marketing materials, and assist sales team with day to day activities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office and/or Google Suite Office
  • Passion for the marketing/advertising industry and desire for real-time experience
  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate course for marketing, communications or similar field
  • Average of 15 hours per week to commit to internship

    Pittsburgh City Paper is currently seeking a student photo intern for the summer semester. Interns must be students currently enrolled in Pittsburgh-area undergraduate or graduate school programs.

    The photo intern should be a student photojournalist with an artistic eye who can tell a story through images. Editorial work will include photographing news and arts, both for print and online. Weekend availability is required. Prior student newspaper work and an outgoing personality are a plus.

    City Paper’s internship program offers real-world experience with professional training. Interns will be paid $12/hour for 10 hours a week.
