Yesterday broke records in Pittsburgh for the coldest Nov. 13 since 1911. But that didn't stop Ellen Kempner, lead singer of Palehound, from warming up Club Cafe with her '90s-inspired, lo-fi sound. From songs about love and relationships (on the latest release, Black Friday) to love and loss (the band's 2017 release, A Place I'll Always Go), Kempner bought life and energy to the intimate South Side venue with her warm vocal delivery and clean guitar licks.
Accompanied by an opening set from Pittsburgh dream-pop band, Drauve, here are photographer Erin Allport's favorite shots from the show.
