If you follow the message of Rave Ami's second full-length album, All Great Bands Break Up, you might assume the worst for the Pittsburgh rock trio.
But, hopefully, Rave Ami is nowhere near calling it quits.
All Great Bands Break Up, which dropped today via Misra Records, is a catchy 10-track alt-indie thrill ride. Most notable is, “I Don’t Wanna Talk About It,” which is the sixth track on the album and Rave Ami’s second single.
The song transports listeners to a circa 2002 basement jam session – which is fitting since All Great Bands Break Up was written over a two-year period where the band members lived together in a house, and the basement doubled as a show and rehearsal space. The high-energy, fluctuating vocals paired with clear, midtempo guitar lick showcases Rave Ami's mastery of the indie-rock genre.
Rave Ami celebrates the new album tomorrow at Cattivo alongside Pittsburgh alt-rock band Talkers, who dropped its sophomore album, DIVE, today as well.
