Was a time when we put together a feature on FFW>> called Stream This Ish -- it allowed you to stream songs from different artists mentioned in the week's issue, by putting widgets from their Bandcamp and Soundcloud pages all together in one spot. Guess what? That took a lot of time to put together!

But, what doesn't take that long to put together is a Spotify playlist. So if you use Spotify (AND HOPEFULLY YOU ALSO BUY CDS OR LPS OR DOWNLOADS FROM ARTISTS SO THEY DON'T GO BROKE), you're in luck. In this new FFW>> feature, I'll be curating weekly Spotify playlists consisting of artists who are either featured in the week's paper, or are in town and didn't get a mention in the section.

I'll play a little fast and loose — for example, this week's Renegades of Rhythm tour stop gets three tracks on the list: one from DJ Shadow, one from Cut Chemist, and one from Afrika Bambaataa, who isn't on the tour but is its impetus. (Also, obviously, only artists whose work is on Spotify can make it onto the list. Sorry, Taylor.)

Can I put together decent playlists weekly using ONLY artists coming to town and local artists? Can I order them so that they make sense and aren't painfully jarring? Will you actually listen? All of these questions are yet to be answered! But let's give it a try!
