Pittsburgh Youth Chorus Placement Session

Placement sessions are required for singers planning to register for one of our Core Choirs or our High School programs. PYC's free and comprehensive group placement process is conducted very much like one of our weekly rehearsals. After physical and vocal warm-ups, the students are introduced to a new piece of music, and together, they learn its rhythmic, melodic, and structural components. As students gain confidence, they are invited to sing a section of the piece for a PYC conductor.
