Critics' Pick: Long White Lines at Mr. Smalls

[FOLK HEROES] + SAT., NOV. 11

Pittsburgh sits close enough to both Appalachia and the East Coast that it’s the perfect breeding ground for Americana. Tonight at Mr. Smalls, Long White Lines pays tribute to the great singers and songwriters of American folk history, like Gillian Welch and Steve Earle, with local artists interpreting classic tunes from the Americana canon. Catch the easy alt-country of Kayla Schureman, the melancholy folk of Paul Luc, Mike Minda of The Commonheart, and WDVE Morning Show host Randy Baumann, plus special guests.

9 p.m. 400 Lincoln Ave., Millvale. $7. 21 and older. 412-821-4447 or www.mrsmalls.com
