Holiday Movie Advent Calendar Day 17: A Twist of Christmas

What do you get when an anal-retentive, food-blogging mom and an overworked lawyer dad switch up Christmas gifts while trying to fight each other to the front of the line in a crowded toy store?

You get a really, really, really long commercial for Oreo!

Seriously, Oreo has a larger role in this Lifetime movie than Jesus in most Hallmark holiday specials.

Single mom Abby Hewitt (Vanessa Lachey) is at the store to pick up a toy robot for her son. Single dad Ryan Cooper (Brendon Zub, who you might recognize from other Lifetime hits like A Christmas Calendar) is there to get a toy unicorn for his daughter.

While waiting for their packages to be retrieved, the two strangers are told they both qualify for a free small gift. The toy they both reach for at the same time? An Oreo music box! Only, someone working at the store snatches it away from them and says it's only a store model that they'll have to order online.

Do you wish that cute little toy existed in real life? It's your lucky day! A commercial break reveals that you too can own this Oreo turntable. Just place an Oreo cookie underneath the needle and music starts playing. How many of you are hoping this Oreo turntable shows up later in the script? I hope all of you.

(BTW, what's your favorite Oreo? I used to be a classic-Oreo kind of lady, but lately, I've been digging the Mint Oreo Thins.)

After Abby gets home and realizes they mixed the gifts up and freaks out because, OMG, she has a UNICORN for her SON who is not a GIRL, she sets out on a mission to find the lawyer and get her robot back.

I could write more about how she storms into his office, how the kids meet, how the two parents get to know each other better, how she learns that there's more to life than living through overly detailed day planners. But why do that, when I can talk about Oreos?

Have you tried the Mystery Oreos? I was a little disappointed by the Coconut Oreo Thins. The Lemon ones are kinda good, but I don't think I can eat more than a few at a time. Wait, do they make red and green Christmas Oreos? I bet that's something a couple could fall in love over.
