Market Square will soon be home to Space Bar, an immersive, molecular mixology lounge that is the brainchild of sci-fi writer Dale Thomas Vaughn and his partner, and longtime bartender, Elizabeth Menzel.
Step into the lounge and you board the SS Oasis, decked out with moon-shaped lighting, tables emblazoned with images of nebula, and constantly changing virtual "windows" that give you a tour of galaxies far, far away.
Lead mixologist Arum Krause employs the use of foams, spherification, and unique infusions like goat-cheese tequila to create an unexpected cocktail menu unlike any other in the city. Space Bar also serves a vegan-friendly/vegetarian menu with items ranging from beet hummus to jicama tacos to sweet "space" ice cream.
Space Bar will open to the public on Saturday, Nov. 18.
