Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie

You should know that I have never seen Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim's boundary-pushing sketch-comedy series on Cartoon Network. Thus, if you are a fan of that show, you won't be surprised to learn I wasn't sure I "got" Tim and Eric's movie. The film, directed and written by Tim and Eric, follows versions of Tim and Eric as they blow a billion dollars on a complete fail of a film, then try to recoup their losses by revitalizing a rundown shopping mall. In the mix are riffs on Hollywood (both the industry and our consumption of it), consumerism, New Age religions (one based on diarrhea), TV, sex, parenting, Tim-and-Eric and various tropes of entertainment. The delivery of the jokes (or "jokes") and observations is as loud, repetitive, vulgar and lame as possible — and this seems to be the point. If you're a fan of the show, I can't imagine why you wouldn't enjoy the film, which is undoubtedly bigger, better (worse?) and free from any crippling cable-TV restrictions. Besides a cast of unknown oddballs, the film features such heavyweights as Jeff Goldblum, John C.
