ANTIfest, Pittsburgh-based label A-F Records' traveling music festival, comes back to the U.S. next year with a stop at the Roxian Theatre.
The 2020 event will mark its second time in Pittsburgh, after the first one in 2017 at Mr. Smalls Theatre. ANTIfest was started in the UK in 2012 by Anti-Flag (the founders of A-F Records) and featured the Bouncing Souls and The Menzingers. During the past two years, the festival has stopped in Wiesbaden, Germany during 2018, and Antwerp, Belgium and Amersfoort, Netherlands in May 2019.
"It is actually insane to us that Anti-Flag has been playing shows in Pittsburgh for over 25 years," said the band over email. "To finally properly bring ANTIfest to our hometown is beyond humbling. From Paris, to Munich, the Netherlands, the UK, and now here."
On the lineup for ANTIfest 2020 is Anti-Flag is Detriot punk-rock band Suicide Machines, English band Grade 2, Phoenix-based Doll Skin, and Pittsburgh's own Swiss Army. Two other special guests are to be announced at a later date.
"Pittsburgh is the heartbeat of our band, the place that instilled empathy and optimism into us, a city steeped in the tradition of standing up for those that work, a community that refuses to give up or give in," said the band. "We cannot wait to play this show. Friends new and old, we can only hope to carry on in the footsteps of our families and loved ones who make this town what it is."
Tickets are on sale now and range from $23-$31. One dollar from every ticket will be donated to the Persad Center.
