Black History Month can elicit ambivalent responses. It's been criticized for being superficial and fleeting, while its goal should be for something far more substantive and continuous. As a white editor of a mostly white staff, Lisa Cunningham wanted to acknowledge and celebrate Black History Month, but was unsure how to go about it, so she reached out for help. CP
