We Say Our Own Names: West Coast Poets of Color

What does it mean to celebrate the West Coast as a writer of color? How can we use our voices to challenge definitions and popular assumptions of the West? This evening features four West Coast to Western PA poets reading from their recent releases, followed by a brief Q&A conversation. Sara Borjas is a Xicanx pocha and a Fresno poet. Rocío Carlos (she/they) is a poet from Los Ángeles. Chiwan Choi is the author of 3 books of poetry. Malcolm Friend is a poet originally from the Rainier Beach neighborhood of Seattle, WA.
