
Lynn talked about refusing to watch the State of the Union address, which saw Trump blather on for almost two hours of lies and braggadoccio. She talked about the economic impact on Pittsburgh of Trump’s cuts to the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation, both of which funnel hundreds of millions of dollars to Pitt and CMU. After the steel industry went down, Pittsburgh remade itself into an “eds and meds” economy, fueled largely by Pitt and CMU. That, now, is endangered as well.
