On May 25, 2023, the anniversary of George Floyd’s death, the 4th annual White Coats Against Racism & Injustice Kneel event took place on the UPMC Montefiore Lawn. About 100 participants knelt for 9 minutes and 29 seconds in solidarity at 1:15 pm. This annual event is to unify against hatred and violence based on race within our Black, Brown, and Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities and is a stance taken against the injustice that marginalized communities face worldwide.
