Thousands of People packed the streets of Downtown Pittsburgh yesterday for the annual Pride Parade. Attendees gathered in the Strip District, marched through Downtown, crossed the Andy Warhol Bridge and ended their march at Allegheny Commons Park West where the party continued. Vendors lined the park while performances popped off on the main stage. Local performer Hazell Azzer kicked off the party in the park by educating the crowd on the importance of Pride and staying safe. Local organizations including QMNTY and TransYOUniting used their platform to stand up to the current administration in Washington D.C. Dena Stanley, executive director of TransYOUniting spoke about the control the government has and how important it is to continue to stand up and fight back stating, “we are gathered today to recharge and reset.”
