Hundreds of people gathered at Schenley Plaza today around 5 p.m. to protest the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, a pro-Palestinian activist at Columbia University. Protesters took to Forbes Ave. expressing their support for Khalil and the people of Palestine. The march continued through Carnegie Mellon University’s Campus ending across from The Cathedral of Learning on the University of Pittsburgh’s campus. Protesters also called out Joan Gabel, Pitt’s chancellor, demanding for the University to divest from Israel and to keep ICE agents off of campus.
