Pirates All-Star pitcher Paul Skenes paid a visit to local first responders at the Monroeville Public Safety Center to present over $100,000 in equipment grants on Thursday afternoon. The Gary Sinise Foundation and Grainger teamed up with Skenes to support departments in Monroeville, Lower Burrell, Susquehanna and Leechburg. Skenes spoke to first responders before serving them meals, “You guys are what makes the city of Pittsburgh so great, I truly believe that.” After speaking to the media he took time to sign autographs and check out new thermal imaging cameras. Skenes then climbed into the back booth of a fire truck and assisted in steering the rig around the parking lot. Skenes has pledged to raise over $150,000 for the Gary Sinise Foundation by the end of the 2025 season.
