Two Pittsburgh-based, veteran-owned breweries — Burgh’ers Brewing and Couch Brewery — are collaborating with First Sip Brew Box (another local, veteran-owned business), on a limited-edition brew created to benefit the Veteran Leadership Program on Veterans Day.
The brew, which First Sip Brew Box CEO Dennis Guy assures will be “a deliciously crisp beer that all veterans can stand behind,” is an American lager, fittingly named Esprit De Corps. The beer (5.6 percent ABV) is described as tasting like a “nice, Wonder Bread crust with some floral and herb notes.”
Esprit De Corps is intended to be on tap at local VFWs and American Legions in celebration of Veterans Day. Both locations of Burgh’ers Brewing and Couch Brewery will have the beer available for purchase.
Along with the beer, First Sip Brew Box will be releasing a limited-edition Veterans Day subscription box, available for pre-order on its website. The box includes a shirt, brewery stickers, pint glasses, a few surprises, and “sample bags of coffee from various roasters, because that is what keeps you alive in the military.”
