Galley Group wants aspiring area restaurateurs and chefs to join its latest cohort. The restaurant accelerator is now accepting applications for candidates to launch new concepts at the Galley Bakery Square space, where they will have access to perks like full kitchens, “minimal upfront cost, maximum brand exposure and dedicated ongoing support,” according to a release. Those interested can email press@galleygrp.com by Sat., April 15 with the following: a “professional resume, restaurant concept description, sample menus and pricing for brunch, lunch and dinner services, and branding materials, such as a logo.”

Alternate Histories Studio

Starting this month, the Alternate Histories studio space in Greenfield will host a Happy Hour series spotlighting local beer, art, and more. On Sat., April 22 from 3-7 p.m., head to a series kick-off party featuring beer by Necromancer Brewing, food by La Palapa, music by DJ EZ Lou, hand-dyed yarn by Ex Libris Fibers, and new work by Alternate Histories. Future happy hour events will include other local breweries, as well as businesses like Greenhouse Co-Op. All Happy Hour events are free, family-friendly, and open to well-behaved, leashed dogs.

Lawrenceville Market House has expanded with more food and local goods. The indoor market-style concept officially opened, on April 8, its Simply Burger and Fries dine-in space where patrons can enjoy smash burgers, fries, and craft sodas. The new concept adds to other food and drink vendors operating out of the market, including Oliver’s Donuts and Nine O’Clock Wines. Also new are Camōflage, a plant seller, and MJ Eclectic, a vendor of vintage items and handcrafted jewelry.

SouthSide Works has unveiled its newly constructed Town Square, touted as featuring three “local outdoor all-seasons food concepts” and a dog park complete with a mobile taproom from Levity Brewing. Try some New York-style pizza from Slice on Broadway, barbecue from Smokin’ Ghosts BBQ, and nachos and burritos from Tasty Taquitos. The Levity Brewing mobile taproom offers six rotating beers on tap.

A new coffee place promises to bring the taste of Colombia to Bethel Park. Set to stage its grand opening at the end of April, Colombino has already started hyping the shop on Instagram as a purveyor of high-quality, ethically sourced Colombian coffee, as well as cacao and traditional foods. The company also has a location on Penn Avenue in the Strip District.
