Tender Bar and Kitchen owner Jeff Catalina is live tweeting this morning the attempt to crack the safes at the former Arsenal Bank at the intersection of 43rd and Butler streets. Follow him @TenderPGH.

Catalina told the City Paper that he expects to find them empty, but “I’m self-financing this restaurant, so maybe I’ll get lucky.”

  1. It would help to have a respected numismatist with you when you open them. Any rare coins within can lose value with even a single mishandling.
