Franco Harris’ son, Dok Harris, is apparently running for mayor — as an independent in the general election. We first noted these rumors last week, when Harris promised an update. And the Harris Web site was updated this morning. In it, he pledges to a mount “an inclusive and open campaign” and to “adhere to strict campaign contribution limits” though he doesn’t specify what those limits will be.
More details as they come in.

I feel like I’m going to get razzed on my blog for “making fun of Dok Harris”. I was having fun, but not at Dok’s expense. I was trying to make the point that in terms of the primary election (in which he is not taking a direct part), he seems more likely to draw energy away from Luke than from Patrick or Carmen.
Having listened to the Delano interview: if it came down to it, I’d trust this kid in a heartbeat over the one we have now. He’s obviously coming at this from the right place and with the right raw abilities. I guess I’d like to hear more about Harris’s accomplishments before I put him in charge of Pittsburgh. Everything from the Superbowl of Business Plans competition to the financial consulting for business and homeowners was very impressive, but there’s little in the way of getting the gears of great institutions to turn.
I think whatever ire you might have provoked from the Harris camp is going to be directed at Matt H instead.
Your probably right.
Not to mention all the flak you’re going to get from the role-playing community, Matt. I mean, who is a blogger (or a journalist, for that matter) to snicker at someone ELSE for being a nerd?
