Cheri Honkala, the Green Party’s nominee for vice president, will speak in Pittsburgh next week.
Honkala, a Philadelphia-based anti-poverty advocate,will give a presentation called “From Movement Politics to Electoral Politics and Back: Anti-Poverty Organizer Cheri Honkala Reflects on her Green Party Vice-Presidential Candidacy,” at 7 p.m. Tues., Oct. 16, at the University of Pittsburgh Cathedral of Learning, Room G24. A reception will follow.
On Wed., Oct. 17, Honkala will meet with local individuals and groups working to organize a regional World Court of Women in Philadelphia in 2013 at 9 a.m. at Café Ola Appétit, 801 N. Negley Ave., Highland Park.
