The Pittsburgh Riveters squared off against the Minnesota Aurora FC in a USL W League Playoff game at Highmark Stadium on the Fourth of July. The Riveters fought hard with nine saves from goalkeeper, Caitlyn Thompson, making her team debut. The game stayed scoreless until Minnesota’s Charly Boone passed a long ball to Catherine Rapp in the penalty area leading to a first half goal. Minnesota secured a second goal in the 72nd minute from a free kick. The Riveters fell to Minnesota 2-0 bringing their historical first season to an end. The Riveters finished off the season with a winning record of 6-2-3. The team will be back in action for their second season next May.
