Pittsburgh-born musician Mac Miller was an alumni of the MLK Mural Project, a local arts organization that invites kids to work on public art projects as a way to do positive work in their communities.
In advance of the one-year anniversary of Miller’s unexpected and tragic death at the age of 26 on Sept. 7, 2018, MLK Mural Project founder and executive director Kyle Holbrook has joined with area youth to paint a tribute mural to the musician in East Liberty.
The mural, located at 250 Paulson Avenue, will be painted from 8 am.-4 p.m. every day through Wed., Sept. 4, and the public is invited to add their own touches to the mural until it’s completed.
A video and photos from today’s mural painting are below.
