Several protests formed in Oakland yesterday as President Trump visited Carnegie Mellon University for the Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit hosted by Sen. Dave McCormick. During the summit, President Trump announced $90 billion in energy and AI investments for Pennsylvania.
Pittsburgh Police officers approached protesters at the corner of Craig St. and Forbes Ave. around 5:30 p.m. demanding they move back. Officers deployed pepper spray on a crowd of approximately 25 people and threatened to make arrests if they failed to leave the area. Protesters moved to the sidewalks and police began to disperse by 6 p.m. No arrests were made.
