When: Wed., Nov. 7, 6:30 p.m. 2018
Millions of Americans are affected by poverty, even in ways you might not expect. There are the physical struggles, like scraping together money for food, bus fare, clothing, rent, and medicine. But there are psychological effects too that can continue once someone is no longer living in poverty. Repair the World will host a screening of We Wear the Mask: the Hidden Face of Women in Poverty, a locally made film by Michael Savisky and Tammy Thompson follows the stories of three women who live differently but have all dealt with poverty in either the past or present, and grapple with the emotional toll it takes.
