Wali Jamal dramatic reading of MLK's pivotal Riverside speech
When: Mon., Nov. 11, 7-9 p.m. 2019
On April 4, 1967, Martin Luther King Jr. delivered a speech entitled "Beyond Vietnam — A Time To Break The Silence" at Riverside Church in New York City. In just under an hour, King drew parallels between poverty, racism, and how Americans fight their wars, and highlighted the hypocrisy of the Vietnam War. Fifty-two years later, at the Warren United Methodist Church, iconic Pittsburgh actor Wali Jamal will do a dramatic reading of "Beyond Vietnam," followed by an audience discussion.
