True West

When: Through Sept. 29
Barebones productions artistic director Patrick Jordan has been waiting 20 years for the right time and place to bring Sam Shepard’s classic True West to the stage. The play, which Jordan claims as one of his favorites and was once a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize for Drama, tells a tale of sibling rivalry. “It’s interesting how there are two sides to all of us,” Jordan says. “How can a person say and do despicable things, shocking things, and still give and feel and receive love — and vice versa? It’s there — it’s in all of us. Do we accept it? Do we fight it?”
