The Lion King

Sure, Disney recently made a live-action version of its animated 1994 hit, The Lion King. But for something truly live-action, see it onstage at the Benedum Center. The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, which follows the story of Simba the lion cub, has wowed audiences with amazing costume and mask designs by the show’s director Julie Taymor and her team. Revisit the award-winning soundtrack by Elton John and Tim Rice, including hits like “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” and "Hakuna Matata,” as well as new songs and additional musical material that fuses Western and African styles.
