It’s a scientific fact that everything is better when you add science to it. OK, that’s not a scientific fact, but you’ll be a believer after spending an evening in The Invisible Jazz Labs, at the Space Upstairs Gallery, in North Point Breeze. Labs is a collaboration between Carnegie Mellon University and the artistic collaborative, The Ellipses Condition. The idea is to unite science and art to “present a topic of scientific discourse against a backdrop of poetry, chalk art, music and dance.” Scientists and artists improvise together, not only explaining a topic, but interpreting it as well, and providing the audience with more than just a performance. -Charlie Deitch
