    Re: “Legal Smokescreen
As a smoker, when the whole issue of banning smoking began to take hold more than a decade ago, I naturally resisted. Imagine allowing the government to regulate not only business, but the behavior of the patrons of the business. Especially when said patrons are BAR patrons... an actual POISON INGESTION CENTER. I was amazed that, in California, the same people who breathe the poisonous air - as well as personally adding to the toxic brown cloud that overhangs the L.A. Basin, would even NOTICE cigarette smoke. Upon further consideration I came to the conclusion that banning cigarette smoke has NOTHING to do with health concerns. Smoking is being banned by "Big Mother" because it is yucky. It's just that simple. People who operate under an equally toxic cloud of pretentious affluence resent the fact that their starchy white dress shirt smells bad after a night out. Tisk, tisk. When I am eating in a restaurant, I always excuse myself to the bar or go outside to smoke. I am not fond of the smell either. HEY, you're welcome, it's no problem to go outside for a minute or two. I enjoy it. Just don't give me this crappola about "health concerns". It's stupid.
