Spring Choral Concert – Beethoven’s Mass in C

Uploaded by W&J College
In honor of the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, the W&J Choir and Camerata Singers present the composer’s Mass in C Major with orchestra and professional soloists. Also on the program is Beethoven’s seldom heard Meerestille und glückliche Fahrt (“Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage”) and “A Silence Haunts Me,” an achingly moving setting by Jake Runestad of a transcription of Beethoven’s Heligenstadt Testament, a letter he wrote to his brothers expressing his anguish at his impending deafness. Don’t miss this powerful performance.
