Sound Series: Jonathan Richman, feat. Tommy Larkins
When: Sun., March 11, 8-10 p.m. 2018
“I’m in love with rock ’n’ roll and I’ll be out all night.” That was Jonathan Richman’s fervent declaration on his mid-1970s proto-punk off-chart hit, “Roadrunner” — and he meant it. The Massachusetts-bred performer has been forming bands, touring and writing music for the better part of four decades. Tonight, Richman, along with drummer Tommy Larkins, stops by The Andy Warhol Museum, as part of its Sound Series: Live!. (You saw these two perform the comic musical interludes in the 1998 film There’s Something About Mary.) The performance starts early, but older rock ’n’ rollers take note: The show is standing room only.
