The University of Pittsburgh rolls a 20-sided dice for She Kills Monsters, a play about one woman’s journey into the magical world of role-playing games. In this touching, comedic adventure by playwright Qui Nguyen, protagonist Agnes Evans deals with lingering grief over her late teen sister, Tilly. When Agnes discovers Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she’s drawn into a fantastic realm of her sister’s making, filled with dominatrix warrior women, homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and plenty of 1990s pop culture nostalgia. Shows take place in the Charity Randall Theatre. Continues through Sun., Oct. 14.
