Book signing for Marianne Novy's new paperback, Shakespeare and Feminist Theory, and David Carrier's new book, Aesthetics of the Margins/ The Margins of Aesthetics: Wild Art Explained (co-authored with Joachim Pissarro). Novy's book is a lively introduction to feminist approaches to Shakespeare and shows how many kinds of feminist theory--concerned with issues such as class, marriage and language--help analyze his plays. Aesthetics of the Margins argues that Wild Art--art outside the established world of art galleries, such as graffiti, self-adornment, and skateboard performance--should be more recognized and accepted, and inquires how it came to be marginalized
