Sean Sherman: "The (R)evolution of Indigenous Food Systems of North America"

If you can control the food, you can control who you are," says Sean Sherman in a presentation at the 2018 World of Flavors festival in reference to the idea of "food sovereignty." The Oglala Lakota chef works to revitalize and raise awareness of "indigenous food systems in a modern culinary context." Sherman will speak on the work he does with his company, The Sioux Chef, at August Wilson African American Cultural Center for a talk called "The (R)evolution of Indigenous Food Systems of North America."
