Robb Hernández

Robb Hernández, a Latinx artist and scholar, is coming to the Kresge Theatre tonight as part of a lecture series at Carnegie Mellon’s School of Art. His book Finding AIDS: Archival Body/Archival Space and the Chicano Avant-garde delves into the roles of gender and sexual transgression, using art to reveal what and how Latinx communities of artists came to respond to an AIDS epidemic. Hernández’s articles have appeared in Aztlán, Collections, Museum and Curatorial Studies Review, MELUS and Radical History Review. He also worked as assistant professor of Latinx literature and visual culture at the University of California. -LO
