Acclimating to a new country is never easy. There are cultural barriers, language issues and, sometimes, outright discrimination. But local translation-service company Global Wordsmiths is looking to help. Today, the third annual Refugee & Immigrant Health and Wellness Fair will take place at the Kingsley Association. Local refugees and immigrants will have the chance meet more than 30 organizations that can help them navigate Pittsburgh’s vast array of resources available to foreign-born residents. Native-born Pittsburghers are also encouraged to attend and interact with immigrants and refugees in hopes of breaking down some of those barriers that typically exist between natives and international residents. Free food will be served and fun games will be played. - Ryan Deto
