Poetic Voices

Uploaded by Edward Leonard
The Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh will open its program year with a concert titled “Poetic Voices.” The program features a range of local talent, including choir Voces Solis and local composer Chris Massa. The first half of the concert consists of pastorale works: two selections from Jean Sibelius’s incidental music Kuolema, Albert Roussel’s “Le marchand de sable qui passé”, and Gerald Finzi’s “Severn Rhapsody.” Voces Solis joins COP for the second half of the concert, containing two works based in the poetry of Dylan Thomas: John Corigliano’s “Fern Hill” and Chris Massa’s “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night.”
