It’s every Irish-American’s favorite holiday, and one of Pittsburgh’s favorite parades. Today is the annual Pittsburgh St. Patrick’s Day Parade, with longtime friend of the Pittsburgh Irish community, Margaret Cloonan as the grand marshal. This year, the parade is dedicated to the late Dan Rooney, Steelers owner and former ambassador to Ireland. This St. Pat’s Day parade is one of the oldest and largest in the country, putting Pittsburgh on the list of top 10 cities where it’s worth going to the event annually. With as many as 350,000 attendees, this parade, like the people of Pittsburgh, will be on its way down Grant Street rain or shine. -LO
