Oh, and the ideas that "Trump supports public transit" is risible. Sure, as a New Yorker, he probably personally understands that public transit has a place in the infrastructure - but his allies in Congress, like the ones in Harrisburg, are quite hostile to public transit.
Ryan Deto forgot to mention the even more damaging 2007 service cuts. Few routes were outright cut during this round, but headways were cut everywhere and many routes were turned into sparse rush-hour only service. Worst were service hour cuts and elimination of 24-hour service - yes, newcomers, we really had 24 hour service on some routes back in the day.
