Uh, flash suppressors are NOT regulated at all. 'Silencers', as you call them, don't do what most people think they do. A suppressor will 'silence' a typical AR-15 to about 100dB, the level of a jackhammer. This bill is 100% for hearing protection and will have ZERO effect on crime. Also, your mythical 'assault weapons' account for about only about 3% of all firearm homicides per year. Handguns account for far more homicides, and although they make up about 16%, or the population, about half of firearm homicides are 'committed on black men by black me. Where is the outrage over this disturbing statistic?
It would be nice to see a fair and at least somewhat accurate article on gun control, er, uh, I mean gun reform just once, but I guess that's asking too much from an unashamedly liberal rag such as this one.
