Our Wives

We meet in the smoke room before we start the day.

We speak of how we will improve our lives.

These conversations — about our wives.

Cindy, Gary, Dawn, the smoking crew.

Had a strange set of wives many never knew.

Cindy’s wife was Tony, he never paid a bill.

Gary’s wife was Michael; he couldn’t stay away from the still.

Dawn’s lovely lady her name was Dee,

Those two lived a life of glee.

How does it happen, two husbands are ladies, two wives are men?

I really can’t tell you how and I sure can’t tell you when.
