Not sure what to do this weekend? Well, lucky for us, the local music community has blessed Pittsburgh with an abundance of new releases and accompanying release shows. So whether you'd rather stay in and enjoy some new tunes or go out and experience the music live, there's no storage of fresh sounds in the 'Burgh.

Release Shows

Slugss - "Sun Sign"
Does this song remind you of something you listened to while making out with your high school crush? According to Slugss Facebook page, that's the goal. It reads: "Trying to sing the songs that people hooked up to in high school, or something."

Off of Slugss' upcoming second album, reminisce tonight when the band holds a release show for the single at Spirit. Joining the band is BBGuns, Ideas for Advertisements, and DJ Huck Finn of Second Skin.

Slugss single release. 9 p.m. Fri., Aug. 9. 242 51st St., Lawrenceville.

Urns - Urns
Urns' finished recording its self-titled debut LP last year, and after sending it to be mastered by Jack Endino at Soundhouse Recording in Seattle, the heavy-metal, punk-leaning band is ready to drop the new music tonight with a release show at Howlers.

In addition to playing songs from the record, Urns will premier five or so new tunes they've never played live.

Urns record release with Swampwalk and Deride. 9 p.m. Fri., Aug. 9. 4509 Liberty Ave., Bloomfield. $5.

Billy Price - Dog Eat Dog
Released last week on Gulf Coast Records, soul-blues singer Billy Price celebrates a local CD release show for Dog Eat Dog at Club Cafe tonight. This Pittsburgh stop is the fifth on a year-long tour in support of the record.

Avi Diamond - Barefoot

Rich - One

The Commonheart - "Wait"

Dive - "Bliss"
