Classrooms Without Borders and Rodef Shalom Congregation present Israeli actor /director/ dramaturg Roy Horovitz in his Pittsburgh debut. "My First Sony" is an award-winning, one-man play based on Benny Barbash's Israeli bestseller. The play tells the story of Yotam, an eleven-year-old boy, who becomes obsessed with documenting his life after receiving a children's tape recorder, his “First Sony." Yotam records events involving his family, their struggles, and heartbreak. Although shadows of the Holocaust and the painful realities of coming-of-age emerge, the thought-provoking story is told with naive honesty and humor.
