Next year, 20 Buck Spin, a Pittsburgh-based record label, along with Gilead Media, a label based in Oshkosh, Wisc., will host the third edition of Migration Fest, a biennial music festival focused on music in the darker/heavy spectrum and underground metal.

The festival will take place over Aug. 1-2 at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale, with 10 acts per day — most of which are from either 20 Buck Spin or Gilead Media's label. A select number of other affiliated and respected artists will round out the lineup, "highlighting the distinct and contrasting styles that [make] each label stand out," according to migrationfest.com.

"You won’t get a better buffet of the best bands the metal underground has to offer," says Dave Adelson, 20 Buck Spin owner.

So far, the lineup includes:

Falls of Rauros
Immortal Bird
Kowloon Walled City
Portrayal of Guilt
Tomb Mold
Witch Vomit
Yellow Eyes

Migration Fest 2020 will be the second time taking place in Pittsburgh, the first of which was in 2018 at Mr. Smalls Theatre.

One unique aspect of the festival is that no guest list spots, press passes, or photo passes are issued. The main goal of the event is to celebrate the members of the bands who are friends of the labels. In addition, no band submissions to play at the festival will be accepted. The lineup is personally selected by Adelson and Gilead Media owner, Adam Bartlett.

More acts are to be announced. A limited number of early bird tickets will be on sale on Jan. 30, 2020, at a discounted rate on 20 Buck Spin's website. General full-price ticket sales will be available the following week.
