    Re: “Snakes on a Bus
am a local snake, lizard and rodent breeder here in Northside Pittsburgh. I was searching for an article someone wrote about me and this article popped up. I was appalled. Who can someone that obviously has some liking [not love, he would have many more snakes] for the animals actually be pro- banning them? That is like a cat rescue or dog rescue or rat rescue calling for a ban on those animals, it's ridiculous and it's never going to happen. Maybe you are not aware of it, but take a look at the classifieds on kingsnake.com if you have the time. It is a huge market out there and it's not going away. The general public may only be aware of the half-dead 'scary, scaley' creatures in petstores, but there is an entire herpoculture out there. Yes, there are a lot of abandoned reptiles. But not 1/16th of the number of cats, dogs, ferrets, etc [read : cuddly creatures that the public care about] I just wish that petstores were actually regulated and weren't allowed to pull the wool over people's eyes! Also, this "The impending release of the Samuel L. Jackson movie Snakes on a Plane is but the latest obstacle to rehabilitating the snake image." What nonsense. It was a movie. A while ago there was also a movie about deadly, crazied bees, ants, tomatoes, mudfish, you name it. Just because 1/4 of americans are retards and don't know a belt from a snake doesn't mean that a movie is going to be an 'obstacle' I'd like to invite you to the next reptile show here in Pittsburgh. I'll even pay for your ticket if you come and talk to me! It's Dec. 17th at the Harmar house! Come and see a taste [it's a TINY show compared to most] of the billions of dollars that change hands a month over these reptiles, their food and supplies.
