May Day Parade

Hit the streets and celebrate your workers’ rights with Polish Hill's 10th annual May Day Parade on the Saturday after the holiday. A little background: May 1 is International Workers' Day, as declared by the International Socialist Conference in 1889. This year, Pittsburgh's parade starts in North Oakland at the end of Melwood Avenue and marches to Polish Hill, ending at West Penn Park. Floats, costumes, and banners are encouraged. A picnic, complete with a maypole and pick-up baseball game, will follow.
