The Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh features one of the area’s premiere cellists, Kathleen Melucci, in a program that spans several centuries of musical history. Melucci is the principal cellist for the Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh and for the Pittsburgh Opera. They will perform Luigi Boccherini’s Cello Concerto in B-flat Major from 1770 as well as Jennifer Higdon’s “Soliloquy,” repertoire that offers this outstanding Pittsburgh musician an opportunity to shine as a soloist. The program for the evening also includes Bartok’s Roumanian Dances, Two selections from 4 Novelletten Op. 52 by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, and Grieg’s Holberg Suite.
